Our Mission

MMA is committed to changing lives and building sustainable communities in our village by providing quality education and improving the quality of life for the children and the parents of our village.

Our Goals

Long-term goals for MMA for the village are to:
  • Help build income for the households by creating income generating projects
  • Train mothers about food security, hygiene, and nutritional benefits
  • Build and operate a malaria clinic
  • Form a cultural bridge between America and Africa's youth

Our Progress

In February 2006, MMA opened its doors to about 150 students enrolled from kindergarten to Grade 7. About 120 of the students are orphans. In addition, many of them come from very low income, and underprivileged families who cannot afford to pay the school tuition. In its 5th year, MMA is the proud guardian and home of 350 students. About 50% of the students live on campus and 50% are day students. MMA is one of the rare schools in Uganda that provide free transportation to those students who reside off campus. These children are incredibly receptive to learning.

School Officially Opened

In August 2008, Miranda Academy was proud to host and to welcome the First Lady of Uganda, Mrs. Janet Musevini, to officially cut the ribbon and to open the school.

Our children were grateful to the First Lady and expressed themselves so!
